Riley’s Five Favorite Christmas Specials – #1
Okay, okay, so it’s totally obvious, but I simply can’t help it. I have much love for prematurely bald and depressed protagonists with wildly creative pet beagles.
A Charlie Brown Christmas – Charlie Brown ranting about commercialism… the little tree that could… the dancing… Linus’ speech about the meaning of Christmas… If that isn’t the holiday in a neat thirty-minute package, I don’t know what is.
And this line makes me feel all warm and fuzzy every time. (Because I’m just that easy.) – “I never thought it was such a bad little tree. It’s not bad at all, really. Maybe it just needs a little love.”
This is my favorite, too. To be honest I hadn’t heard of the others. But, this really is the best. I think when people don’t want to watch it with you because you can’t help reciting the whole thing like it’s some kind of speak-a-long, then it definitely qualifies as # 1. 😀
