For me, entertainment should not be a competitive sport (or any art really).
Award shows are ridiculous constructs. Yes people should be recognised for a job well done but there are other ways of dong it contrary to an competitive awards show.
Granted. But since awards shows, and even untelevised awards ceremonies, garner enough attention that they probably aren’t going away any time soon, I’m still going to get a little giddy with each surprising nominee. Thoughts on ways to honor artists and entertainment on a large scale without turning it into a competition?
