Oy, I have to agree. I voted for Obama in ’08, and he’s really failed to deliver. I’m not going to go so far as to say he’s been a horrible President–Dubya is still in recent memory, after all–but he certainly could have done a LOT better. In 2012 he certainly looks to be the least of many evils, given what the GOP has become.
Still, I hold out hope that 2012 might finally be the year when an independent candidate could run and win, capitalizing on how fed up the vast majority of Americans are with the system as it stands. Jill Stein (Green Party) is intriguing, but lacks experience and exposure. I’m sorta hoping Bernie Sanders (the Independent Senator from VT) might throw his hat in. I’d make every effort to vote for that guy multiple times.
