We arose before sunrise today, only to discover it was damn cloudy outside. It’s been cloudy off and on the entire time we’ve been here on Kauai. The winds have also been brutal. 50 mile gusts that make you feel like you might be blown straight off the side of a cliff brutal. It’s even done some raining, which seems downright un-Hawaiian.

Don’t worry though. I’ve still managed to get remarkably sunburned on just a few four to six inch spots on my body. I look a little patchwork, kind of like a giraffe.

Yesterday, we fought the wind and did a 4.6 mile hike into Waimea Canyon. Then, we cried.
