Hey, I just noticed this page. Has it been up long?
I do have a livej. account created for vs purposes, but I’m such a groupie, I may comment here from time to time.
On October 31st and November 21st for certain.
Or until you guys get a restraining order against me.
October 7th, 2008 at 7:53 pm
Are you crazy Nikky? You know we love comments! There will be no restraining orders from the likes of the VS crew, I can assure you.
And we just threw this page up so that non LJers would have a place to post the day you commented actually. It was that new. Way to be observant
October 10th, 2008 at 8:13 pm
Okay, so these are absolutely amazing!!! I’m going to have a hard time waiting until the 31st. I love them!
October 30th, 2008 at 9:03 pm
You give good teaser.
October 30th, 2008 at 10:01 pm
If I had a nickel for every time I heard that… I’d have a nickel.
October 31st, 2008 at 12:15 am
I hope I get to read this episode before I have to be at work, otherwise I will be reading at 3am.
I’m curious about the connection between Cindy’s new eyewear and darts.
Yeah, for relationship foils.
October 31st, 2008 at 7:03 am
Teaser like that always reduce me to an impatient, whiny little girl. I feel so… teased.
But judging by the teaser and Pirate!Cindy in the banner, I know this episode is going to be awesome.
October 31st, 2008 at 7:45 am
Oh man, Riley I can’t help but wish that Cindy smacks that boy down hard when she realises he likes her. I just spent four hours dealing with STUPID BOYS and imagine I’ll still be upset enough tomorrow to be really grateful for a breath of fresh, Lindsay and Cindy scented air
October 31st, 2008 at 10:49 pm
As requested I commented liberally over at the vs comm. And now I’m doing it here. Of course I’ll post my usual extended comment/ review/lovefest at my journal some time this weekend, and then I’m going to hire a skywriter to send a message over southern California. When you see a big ‘R’, that’s for you. Sadly, I don’t think I can afford more than that. You should read this one letter thusly: Riley LaShea Rocks Cyberspace!!
I should probably rejoin the party going on upstairs since I’m technically hosting it. But I have a cold and I’d much rather read the episode again.
And please forgive the lewdness from yesterday it wasn’t me talking it was the Nyquil.
All attempts at humorous comments aside, it was the perfect episode for the vs to return with. Thank you!
November 1st, 2008 at 12:51 am
Not that I didn’t do this over at the VS wbesite because I have an LJ, but then you did say come here and comment liberally, Random Riley, so I will.
First of all, if I could give you some kind of fiction writing award in the same calibre as it would be for someone in the film industry to get an OSCAR, then I would give you said fiction writing award for your absolutely, completely out there like Pluto, but still fitting for the epsisode image of… CINDY! And not just Cindy because Cindy is awesome and my absolutely favourite character. But because you gave me heroine-Cindy with her need to save Lindsay Boxer mixed with a Halloween-Pirate-Cindy in a most amazingly described costume that would simply send a Saint straight to hell for their lusting. Nice work there.
And not only did you put Cindy in a Pirate costume, which is something entirely original in this universe, but you managed to get her into a comedic scene of irony, you managed to get her soaked - HOT - and then you throw her into a steaming kiss, complete with Hollywood reference, build-up and imagery. I’ve got to say, that’s more than just brilliant planning. That was divine intervention on your part. “That’s gold” for all of it. I wish I could give you something else but… I neither possess industry connections nor have a magic lamp with a genie willing to give three wishes. If I come into possession of the latter, I will be happy to send it your way.
And after all that Cindy admiration, can I say you’ve done smashingly in adding to the level of complexity each show has built on in the past. I loved you light touch-stones to previous episodes of the VS and the better part of the first season. Jill’s inability to temper her mouth was a wonderful touch to the amount of work-abuse Denise piles on to her. But then you also gave Denise a heart, which makes me a little bit forgiving of her, especially after reading her little conversation with Lindsay in another fabulous story you are writing. No need to mention which one. I also enjoyed how you reminded me that things aren’t entirely stable between Claire and Ed. And yet the image of those two being a king and a queen at a costume party gets to be added to your well of brilliance in tying the characters together in scenes. And finally, Lindsay’s journey in trying to determine her father’s past as a cop was awesome reading, simply for the fact you built so much history into a few scenes within the acts, tied it all to Lindsay’s fraying feelings on the matter, then bringing in Cindy to bust things wide open for the fragile cop. It’s some of the best writing I’ve had the pleasure to read in any of the episodes that have come to air. You’ve certainly raised the bench mark to some pretty fucking high standards. And they’ve been met in previous weeks so I can only imagine the same for next week. But I have to say this has been my favourite episode so far. And I can only hope to wait as patiently as possible - which I’ll add is a particualrly unbearable thing to do for someone who has absolutely no fucking patience within themselves - for the next episode you happen to write for this wonderful series. You definitely belong in the pantheon of divine Women’s Murder Club writers.

PS - Sorry for taking up so much space to comment.
November 1st, 2008 at 4:27 am
Well, I was correct. Its 3:24am and I just finished reading. Well, that’s not entirely accurate. I just finished reading the last scene for about the 7th or 8th time. I am exhausted and can’t think so I feel bad that my comment is going to be pretty bland.
I’ll just mimic Cindy and say, Awesome!
Oh, and there might have been random uncontrollable clapping and sqeeing from me when reading the episode.
November 1st, 2008 at 5:14 pm
Totally worth the wait.
I loved the scene with the scar. It was subtle but it said a lot.
I just wish it was spring so that we could jump an hour closer to the next episode instead of having to wait that extra hour.
November 3rd, 2008 at 6:46 am
Sins of the Father, Sins of the Daughter…
What can I say? As with Angie and Nikki, I’m taking your request to comment in more than one place to heart. After all, when you’ve provided me with such joy, the least I can do is offer a little feedback.
Lindsay’s finally gotten some closure. It’s funny sometimes, how you can forget about the deep wounds someone carries if they are emotional injuries, if the person covers them with a brave face and a hard shield. I almost felt that even finally confirming for sure that her father was a crook would have been a kind of release for Lindsay… not one with very pleasant results, granted, but at least she wouldn’t still be living with the unknown.
Ahhh! I could write an essay and still have too much left to say. Instead just know that I loved this. Thankyou.
November 3rd, 2008 at 11:49 pm
Nikky, I saw my ‘R’ in the sky, but for some reason when I was trying to read it as ‘Riley LaShea Rocks Cyberspace’, the guy kept writing and it said ‘Red Robin Makes Great Burgers.’ I’m confused. Is this the message you intended?
Angie, if you were to come across a magic lamp and send it my way, don’t get me wrong, I’ll take it… but I do hope you keep one wish for yourself. And don’t ever forget, if there is no clause against it, always wish for three more wishes ASAP.
wickedgrrl, I say what’s the point of all of this if not for uncontrollable clapping and squeeing?
pprbkwrtr, glad it was worth the wait.
Starry, I’m glad it brought you some joy. Heaven knows, we all need more of the things that do. And you’re welcome.
November 21st, 2008 at 1:22 am
I’ve had a couple posts disappear when trying to comment. Apparently, simple math is not my thing.
So to recap the last two epi’s have been awesome. I try to pimp them at spashley as much as I can and tend to comment there.
The waiting game is torture inbetween epi’s. However, I’ll take it over waiting the month (or longer) for my Buffy comics.
The new banner is intense. I’m not sure I should have paid so close attention right before trying to go to sleep. Perhaps I’ll just read some Lindsay/Cindy scenes before attempting to close my eyes.
I enjoyed the reprieve from the HM in the last epi’s, even though while reading we didn’t know what was coming. I am also interested in seeing where the next death/sin takes us. I feel like I’m caught up in Seven all over again. That is both good and baaaad. I remember seeing Seven in highschool as a non-fieldtrip/fieldtrip with my English class. We were studying Dante and Cantebury Tales. Anyways, its interesting to be reading fanfic that is delving into this literary foray.
November 22nd, 2008 at 1:03 am
I may be completely wrong, but I think I understand why we got updates of “Conversations†and “ES†and none from “BtSatSâ€. I imagine after writing something so dark and intense, you needed to write a little comedy. As emotional as this was to read it must have been supremely harder to write.
You did a fantastic job. This was another amazing episode. I sincerely hope that one day you get to enjoy the spoils of literary stardom. And I hope with all my heart that that day comes soon.
November 22nd, 2008 at 4:25 am
Wow. Well the reprieve ended with a bang. It took me a really long time to finish reading this epi. Which is ironic because I didn’t actually read some long passages, I let my eyes skim until I found words that didn’t make my stomach roll. I’m a squeamish girl. I heeded your advice in Amorata when you said don’t read, I did skim. Unfortunately, some one did let slip a particular detail I had successfully avoided.
It was harder to avoid in this epi because it kept coming back around to the details. None of this is commentary good vs. bad, its really just me processing out loud here. ‘Cause… damn.
I loved Jacobi’s line about Cindy’s fan base. I had to enjoy the meta moment, plus all levity was greatly appreciated.
Thank you for the ending. It was much needed. I really didn’t want to end this epi angry and frustrated with Lindz. I too was watching the scroll bar, saddened when it was getting so close to the bottom so quickly.
I stopped several times during my reading of this epi to post commentary on spashley. I don’t think I said much there beyond giving, (if ever they could be considered as such), ample warnings.
So yeah, thanks for the update. If/when this dude ever gets a hold of a character we know, I just might pull a Jill and lose my lunch in the trash under my desk. Suddenly, I’m worried about the fate of the over eager tech girl. Frak. I’m worried about all of them.
November 23rd, 2008 at 3:30 am
It is now Sunday evening and I’ve cooked and read and generally just had some more time to absorb your recent episode. So now I’m going to review again. this process will mainly be me tlling you which bits are still stuck with me now and come easily to mind without rereading.
The first thing that comes to mind is Cindy’s reaction in the aftermath of her stalking. It’s a little heartbreaking, and I’m left wondering if Jacobi is going to have to do something to renew her faith in the men on the force. I love that you all have colluded so well, and everything in each episode links to something else.
I can understand Lindsay’s urge to wrap Cindy up in cotton wool, to keep something near her that is safe and erm… (bad word to use, considering) pure. The emotional aftermath of keeping her friends out of the loop will surely follow her though (less so now that she’s sort of made up with Cindy), and probably catch her at a pretty bad time.
Oh, and… THEY HAVE A LEAD! That tech girl was cute, and I laughed when Jacobi informed Lindsay that Cindy’s detective work had broken the girl’s heart. He totally rocked in this episode, calling Lindsay out on her shit and going behind her back to mend things.
Hallelujah Man is pretty freaking scary, and I’m guessing it’s only by luck that the television media didn’t get a hold of that video. Luck and some writers’ recognition that there is such a thing as *too* much chaos. What makes him different as well is his absolute disregard to the police. Many, many other psychopaths would be taunting them, but he feels so strongly that he’s doing god’s work that they don’t even seem to register but as a hinderance should he get caught.
And now dinner has been put down in front of me so I’m going to take that as a cue to stop now before I find more to say and it gets cold.
Fantastic job as always, thankyou.
November 23rd, 2008 at 10:46 am
Wow! THIS is the show I had such hopes for when it was on TV! Too bad you guys were not the writers that actually got paid to write it. In all seriousness, they should read this virtual season and learn something about great story telling - and character pairings!
I’m a long time lurker, but felt compelled to comment and let you know what a great job you’re doing with this. (The threat of “cancellation” might have helped also!) One of these days, I may open an LJ account and join the party, but until then, please know that I’m enjoying every word of this! Please don’t stop writing!!
The only thing that could make me stop reading (and enjoying), is if Linz decided to blow off the club and hook up with some guy named Pete. (Like I said, the TV writers could learn a thing or two from you…)
You write, I read!
PS - A word to one of your sponsors: That banner for Cross My Heart was all kinds of hot!!
November 24th, 2008 at 11:20 pm
RILEY!!
I am ashamed to say that this is the first night I have had enough time free to read the whole thing (I’ve started at least five times) but DAMN GIRL! What a fantastic, wonderful ending. I LOVED it. You are my Cindy/Lindsay hero! Such an amazing writer and you just made my fucking night, so congrats!
December 11th, 2008 at 12:56 pm
I like Pete, a lot; I’ve always liked the actor. Period. But considering the chances I really, really hope he is the guy with the cameras, the idea of little Cindy getting “judged†for lust by the Hallelujah Man… well I don’t think I really need to explain my opinion on that one (though something tells me if gluttony weren’t already covered she could very well fall for that one´**wink, wink**). I must admit, though, I thought that Honeycutt broad was going down for that one, or worst case scenario (an all too popular one, by the by) Jill.
I’m delighted that you’ve given Denise more “Screen time†than she ever had in the show; I kinda like her (guilty), and love the prospect of some Jill/Denise in the horizon; I specially like this new ‘fascination’ of Jill with Denise’s humor, very sweet.
By the way, for something that was so crucial just some chapters ago, you’ve taken an almost classic disregard for Claire’s marital status as of late; I just though it’d be worth mentioning.
And this might sound a bit strange (not that I’m not used to that), but I’d really like to see some interaction between our good, very whipped Lt. and Cindy; somehow I just find the concept all too amusing (I could probably blame it on “The Courtship of Lindsay Boxer†by Angelfire-08 but don’t hold me to that).
Finally; I overall love this thing and I’m saddened to hear there probably won’t be a next one (and Riley, you will be sorely missed if there is one), even though I hadn’t even considered it a possibility. I’m weird like that **shrugs**.
Oh, before I forget! I find it curious how no one has written any VS based fics, considering the show’s no longer on, I’d say this is as canon as it gets. It does hold the consensus of some of the greatest authorities in the fandom, doesn’t it?
Again, congratulations on this magnificent team effort (I’m dying for and dreading it’s ending all at the same time), and I’d say keep it up except I already know you will, so there.
Sincerely:
Nofret.
P.s. I know the apparent lack of interest is disgruntling but I can assure you, you’re holding us poor readers on the edge of our seats, we’re still as faithful as can be; I, for one, almost always have a new update to read by the time I can scour the internet, so I’d be a bit embarrassed to jump the gun with my crazy theories when they’ve already, probably, been put to rest (the seven Deadly Sins, for example, I saw those coming from a mile away, but I do admit to being worryingly obsessed with “Sevenâ€). Still, you give us something to look forward to, I’d even say that’s noble of you, but that’d be lying it too thick **smiles embarrassed**.
January 10th, 2009 at 10:42 pm
Another great episode. Loved the Claire slap and Jill focus. I thought there might be a 3 way - Lindsay/Cindy/Jill (I can only hope). Can’t wait for the next episode. Thanks
January 24th, 2009 at 1:39 am
Commets = Ratings? How ’bout
more
great
suspenseful
my only fix (gotta feed a junkie)
well written, I love the variety
hope to hell there’s another season
January 24th, 2009 at 8:51 am
that was just awesome, like all the episodes before!! go on, you guys rock for doing this!
January 25th, 2009 at 12:02 pm
I loved Linds/Cindy moments they were sweet. I can’t wait for the next part to reavel who is the killer. and in the future waiting for the third vmc. I would like to see some one to explor the idea of lindsey being the victim insted of the saviour, would like to see how they will work to save her.
January 25th, 2009 at 7:10 pm
This has left me on the edge of my seat every time!! I love this, just wish they would come faster (how could I not?!)
January 26th, 2009 at 12:56 am
Another GREAT episode! You’ve captured the characters so well, I feel like I’m actually watching the show (before it went off the deep end!)
Thanks for writing!! I’m really looking forward to the next episode - but I’m not looking forward to the end of the VS!
January 26th, 2009 at 7:54 pm
first time writing a comment which should tell you how much I am enjoying your virtual season! Love WMC and love the character of Jill.
Last few episodes have been right up my alley. I suspect she is in for an unpleasant encounter with HM and I suspect pete is going to be a major problem in the last episode! Am I right? Please please do a season 3. More people read than you know.
Personally I prefer Lindsey with Jill but I am in the minority, however, if you ever consider breaking up Cindy and Linds( come on they don’t walk and exchange the looks like Jill and Linds do!) think of the angst in the group.
January 28th, 2009 at 12:41 pm
Shit, shit, shit, shit, shit, shit, I hate you, I hate you, I hate you, I hate you, I hate you; you did not just did that! Jill?!! (Is what James Patterson did not enough?) I know there was an article written about it, but, why aren’t they looking into the people at the court that day to begin with? You jump down the hopeful but improbable first! Only THEN you act on the pessimistically realistic! And Tom and Cindy, just wtf? I’ve seen awkward in my life but that takes the gold **smirk**.
I’m probably going to hate myself later but, wouldn’t Pete make a beautiful Envy?
Nofret.
February 6th, 2009 at 10:47 pm
This is a great idea! May the seasons live on. Awesome episodes and great writing. Keep it up!!!
February 9th, 2009 at 2:56 am
I have enjoyed the writing ….I feel like I was watching the TV….Thanks….Very good job….
February 12th, 2009 at 3:57 pm
Since I discovered fanfiction a few years ago, I have been hooked! Sometimes I read fanfiction before the actual show is on tv. This usually results in disappointment in the show. Because the characters and relations are so different ‘in real life’ than in the fanfiction stories. Womens Murder Club was one these shows. And this virtual season is really very well written. I really enjoy it. As I discovered it a bit late in the season I was able to read a few (about 6) episodes in one go. The waiting for the next episode was very long after that. The dialogue, the emotions, the humour, all very well done (still laugh about the rolling pin scene). Can’t wait to find out how it will all come to a close in the last episode. I would love a next season!
February 13th, 2009 at 9:19 pm
That sucked!
I mean in a good way- I hate cliff hangers, and that was a doozy.
And we have to wait month’s for more? gaaah
I never saw the pete/video thing coming, that was awesomely done.
But more jill/denise would have been nice- and don’t tell me there’s going to be a snow distraction, cos I’m not interested (much)!
February 13th, 2009 at 9:23 pm
September? We gotta wait till september? oh man.
February 13th, 2009 at 11:41 pm
Oh My God! Fantastic!
I knew Pete was a wrong’un in the 1st series.
Great scene between Jill/Lindsay-’Promise me’- Nicely done.
Thanks guys, can’t wait for next season!
February 14th, 2009 at 11:23 am
Loved the season and am hoping the cliffhanger means you are gearing up for season3! First, Pete being nuts was no surprise but the copying of the KMNK was simply inspired. Didn’t expect that at all and when I think of Lindsey showing him the attic!!!…boy is he going to freak her out!!!
Secondly, Maggie Snow. My first reaction was that you dolls are giving Jill her own Lindsey clone. My second thought was if Jill can’t have Linds, I’d rather see her with Denise so this potential triangle is going to be a lot of fun. However, there can’t be 2 Lindseys so is Maggie a future victim?
Lastly, I adore the club moments. It’s the best part of WMC. For some reason, I always envision Cindy and Jill as Lucy and Ethel. I don’t know why but I easily go there and can see Cindy sucking Jill into helping her then Lindsey pulling them both out by their ears with Claire glaring and crossing her arms in disapproval. And thanks to you wonderful people I now see Denise in the mix whacking Jill on the head with a legal brief for listening to one of Cindy’s crazy plans! You guys rock!!
February 14th, 2009 at 2:04 pm
Great Series well written and the ending is so great that I will be counting the days tell the new seaseon
February 14th, 2009 at 2:06 pm
come on you can’t leave us hanging like this please make it soon with the next season
February 17th, 2009 at 8:33 pm
Great job. Pete as a psycho, you guys are evil (I mean that in a good way). Well, I’ll be waiting…waiting…..waiting……………
February 19th, 2009 at 2:00 am
Please do continue with this wonderful Women’s murder club virtual season(s). You’re all doing an awesome job and it feels very true to the characters. Excellent job!!!! Love it!
February 26th, 2009 at 9:24 pm
This series is every bit as good as the tv show and in some way surpasses. I’ll most definitely be bookmarking and reading it again and again.
Thank you.
March 14th, 2009 at 2:15 pm
Awesome!!
Please…. hurry for season 3
I really look forward for it….
May 6th, 2009 at 12:04 am
just discovered this recently; still haven’t read the entire ‘virtual season 2′, but i’m planning to one of these days. that said, i just wanna say ‘thank you’ for deciding on continuing on with the story, and that you guys rock. it is amazing how much energy, time, skill, dedication, heart, perseverance and everything else your team must have put into making this ’season 2′ into a reality. and to think that you’re planning on a ’season 3′…i salute you all. really, really amazing; mind-boggling. you all deserve a medal, a plaque of appreciation, or something for all of these. unfortunately you’ll just have to settle for praises, but who says that’s such a bad thing?
good luck with the writing, i’ll look forward for the ’season 3′. and i’ll be commenting once i finish every episode of the ’season 2′! later!
May 7th, 2009 at 11:55 pm
Your episodes - definitely some of the best. Not, mind you, that they weren’t all fantastic, you just happen to have a knack for writing these guy. This series, in all, is FANTASTIC. I am eagerly awaiting July.
May 15th, 2009 at 3:57 pm
OMG! I was literally breathless at the end of this season. I love the twists with Pete. I can’t wait to find out what’s going to happen next. When are you starting up again?
May 25th, 2009 at 3:14 pm
Wow. Just wow. That was an amazing ride I just got off of. That twist with Pete at the end was pretty crazy and I really enjoyed it. Here’s to hoping for another great season!
June 1st, 2009 at 11:30 pm
I just finished reading all of the episodes. Really enjoyed the writing and can’t wait for the new season to start.
June 16th, 2009 at 7:52 pm
I just finished the last episode, and I have to say, I’ve been really impressed by the whole season. This is what I wanted the show to be. Y’all did a great job with the characters and the plots, and I really appreciated the organic development of the season’s story arc. Brava!
(When does season 3 start?)
