Save Women’s Murder Club
UPDATE: R.I.P. WMC?
So, ABC, you are getting antsy. It seems Women’s Murder Club isn’t performing well enough for you, despite being the top rated show in its time slot for every episode but one (which was your own fault, because you moved it that night… I’m just saying). It isn’t creating the traffic you want from teeny-boppers and early adults (18-34 year olds). Apparently an audience isn’t an audience unless they still have pimples.
And as for the snarky rumor I read that no one born after 1975 watches this show, I was born after 1975. FYI.
According to one ratings site, “Women’s Murder Club ratings have been between second and fourth for both ABC new shows and all new shows in general.” And this on a Friday night when viewership is light.
Am I missing something here?
So, if there are others out there, like me, who find this possible loss of WMC painful, comment about it below. I will send it on to ABC daily. But don’t forget to hassle them yourself too.

I LOVE this show. It is smart, which is really rare on network TV. Angie Harmon is spot on as Lindsey. I have loved Rob Estes since he was on Silk Stalkings. Please do not cancel this show.

I cannot believe they are considering cancelling this show! I just logged on to see when it would be back on. This is the only network I am really watching this year and I am not seeing a lot of love for the shows I watch-guess I will be going elsewhere if they cancel. What a shame…WMC is a great show.

WWC is a great show with a top-notch cast, exceptional writing, and remarkable wit. It not only deserves to stay on the air, it has earned the right to.

We have to SAVE the WWC. It seems that everytime I
really get into a show and really like it they take it off for another Sex in the City look alike. Women have brains that run deeper than that.

I hardly ever watch shows on ABC, they never seem to impress me. I finally find the type of show that I absolutely love on ABC, and they are talking about cancelling it. I am so upset. I have not missed one WMC show yet. If this show is cancelled at least I will know never to watch ABC again, it isn’t good to get involved in a really good show, because obviously it will be cancelled. I hope they realize what a huge mistake they would make by ending WMC.

1st I was born after 1975 (ok a year later) but my point is I don’t miss an episode of WMC–I also tape it so I can watch it during the week when its not on–my dvr isn’t full yet so you have to bring it back– This is one of my favorite shows and there have only been 10 episodes.–WMC has support and it would be a shame to cancel another show but then again its the ABC way!!!!!!

I really hope WMC isn’t cancelled. My sister and I both really enjoy watching it, and we’re missing it a lot. For the record, I was born in 82 and she was born in 85.

I am so tired of the cashmere mafia and lipstick jungle junk T.V. shows out there. WMC is a great show with good strong characters and stories. The last episodes were awesome!WMC has consistently been ranked high in viewers in its time slot…if you were to move it to a different time it would be even more popular.How can you want to cancel when it has done well despite your attempts otherwise? Do you only value your bubble gum viewers? If ABC cancels this show, one that has actual grit to it, I for one won’t be watching them much!!

I check in to find out when WMC will be back on the air and instead I find out that it might be cancelled. Why does this always seem to happen?
Please ABC give WMC a chance. I started watching midway and now I’m hooked. Had to backtrack to find the first couple of episodes since they aren’t on the website. And as a result of the show, I’ve even read all the books including 7th Heaven.
Great cast, great writing, and a loyal fanbase that has been waiting out the strike for the shows return. Please don’t disappoint us. We need our WMC.

Why is it so easy for the networks to cancel a show when it’s only been on the air for a couple of episodes? This I will never understand. WMC is one of the best new shows to come out this year. It’s intelligent, witty, and just a lot of fun to watch. It keeps me on the edge of my seat. Please don’t take that away.

I still can’t believe that they would even consider canceling such a great show. My sisters and I love it to death- and we’re 13-18 years old. I don’t understand why they keep half of the “dumb” shows and take away the only one I watch on ABC. I don’t know what it’ll take to keep it alive, but I’m about willing to do anything!

That is so not true. I haven’t missed one episode since it started airing, and I was born after the ’90s. I also know several people, all born well after 1975 who watch and love this show as much as I do. It’s really a pity. If they cancel it there won’t be many good shows left to watch, especially none on ABC. If they want to keep their network, they need to listen to their viewers and NOT cancel this show!!!

I adore this show. It has been the highlight of this short tv season. I think it is the best new show this year and I would be heartbroken to have it disappear. Please ABC, don’t get rid of it.

OMG! I cant beleive ABC is even considering canceling WMC! Im a 14 year old girl that stays home friday nights just to watch WMC. I have been watching since day 1 and now i am addicted if WMC is cancled i think i might die from dissapointment! Besides ugly betty and desperate housewives this is the only show i watch on ABC but if WMC is canceled ABC wont have to worry about me ever watching channel 4 (ABC) again.

I have no idea what the reasoning…if there is any at all…is behind even considering canceling this show. I get the feeling that for some reason ABC wanted this show to fail from the beginning. A. Unlike ABCs other new shows WMC was not promoed until the show basically started. If I wasn’t a fan of James Patterson and had not visited his website, I wouldn’t have noticed it come on the air. B. It pulls in a great crowd and then they start screwing around with it’s air time. C. It’s getting top ratings and they want to pull it??? uhh..What???
Add to that, the writers strike…by the time WMC hit the air half of America had alread turned off their TVs.
Come on give the show a true chance.
If you must change it, ditch Tom and make Lindsey Lt. — like the first 5 books. This is the only thing I don’t like about the show, because it makes her look weaker.. and she ROCKS. Period.
BTW I am 33. So count me!!

I love this show. I am a criminal justice buff. Not too sure as to why the show was suspended, but it needs to come back. There’s no substance to TV now. Everything is about REALITY shows, bad ones too. It’s like the writers, directors and producers lost their sense of creativity and got lazy. This show was a long time coming. I think….NO I WANT this show to come back. I was born in 1977 and I am a faithful fan.

Don’t take WMC off the air!! It is the best ever. My daughter (b.’66 and granddaughter b.’86) both watch it with me. We look forward to Friday nights for a change. ABC, get smart and do yourself a favor, by keeping WMC on you will be watched more than the others…

no one after 1975? who the hell would say that im an 89 gal and this show is everything a show should be, dramatic, funny, fresh, with an amazing cast each episode has hit the mark brilliantly and this show could be a fantastic hit and has VERY REAL potential

Please, do not cancel WMC. I have very few shows to watch now, since most of the other choices are an insult to my intelligence; please do not take away another great show! It is fantastic, and gives my husband and I a show we look forward to watching together.

WMC was the only show on tv that I actually forced myself come hell or high-water to be home on a friday night to watch! an I agree with the comment that Cashmere Mofia and Lipstick Jungle are JUNK shows….take them off and leave my WMC!!!!!!

Finally ABC had the ‘brains’ to add to their lineup a show that allowed the viewer to become engaged and at times engrossed in a show. WMC allowed our entire family to enjoy a program on while not feeling feeling like we had to censor it.
The most remarkable example of how additive this show is…My husband has very little free time so rarely watches any tv. Up until WMC he only made time for one show (and that show was on cable programming!). The moment he saw the first episode of WMC he as hooked.
The entire family set their schedule to be able to watch this show…Ages 15, 18, 20, 49, and 50! If that isn’t a wide age range that enjoys the same show I don’t know what is.
ABC…please think long term and more family oriented which this show, Women’s Murder Club is. This show stands out heads above the other programs currently on the air that wish they were half as good.
PLEASE DO NOT CANCEL THIS SHOW.

Ok so i’m actually in love with this show and i’d like to marry it but i dont think thats legal. it is however legal to watch it till i die which wont be for a while if i have anything to say about it. and im not the only one!! all my friends and family, and my friends families watch this show too! i seriously changed my work schedule to be able to watch this show!! People of all ages watch this show, no matter what your statistics say so please please PLEASE dont cancel Women’s Murder Club. <3

So we are hooked as a neighborhood. 14 homes on our street ages of homeowners range from 23 - 74. We used to get together and watch and socialize. So ABC… when even the 2 varsity senior athletes along with their parents stay home to watch the show rather then hang out with their buddies, does that tell you you have a winning show? So get on with it already finish the season and start making season 2. You’re ruining our social life - when you can have a show other then Monday Night Football that so many divers groups of people enjoy together, then I’d say that it is a win.

And I spend our households money and do see the ads on this show when it was on!
My Mother is 50 this yr.(she’ll kill me) Also, LOVES this show. Seem to me it covers all age groups.

I LOVE the show and the books. ABC is crazy to even think about canceling this show. I watch it with my daughter who is twelve,and I am 34. My husband even likes it. I agrre with you and I truely hope they don’t drop the show but if they do I hope someone else is smart enough to pick it up and keep the cast as is. And Lindsy should be LT. In the meantime check out the books if you haven’t already. I just finished “7th Heaven” and it rocked.

I cannot believe ABC is trying to get rid of this show! It is great television. They really need to reconsider this. Heck, before you get rid of it at least try it out on a different day. Shows usually get moved to Friday when they are on the way out the door. This show held it’s own on Fridays, I think that in itself warrants this show another look! The cast is great and the story lines are great. I know several people that would be very upset if this show did not come back. I will boycott ABC altogether if WMC doesn’t come back!

I GOT HOOKED ON THE WMC BOOKS AND HAVE READ ALL OF THEM,(I WANT #8). I STARTED WATCHING THE SHOW ON ABC AND GOT TO THE POINT WHERE I HAD TO BE HOME ON FRIDAY NIGHT IN TIME TO WATCH IT. i really hope ABC does not cancel this show. i remember watching the first episode & not liking it then i watched the next & fell in love. recently i have started reading the books. im currently on the 3rd book and waiting for the 4th book to be returned to the library so i can check it out! they are amazing! and about the no one watches it who is born after ‘75….FYI i am 16 & LOVE it! sometimes i would stay home on a friday night to watch because i loved it so much! and besides does anyone really watch pushing daisies or eli stone or those other ridiculous shows that dont have much of a plot…?

WMC is the best show ABC has come up with ever for Friday nights. I previously used Friday mostly to watch a NETFLIX disc but now I’ve always watched the WMC. Cashmere Mafia doesn’t come close and I’ve deleted it from my series tapings. If ABC can’t respect the viewers and continue this show then I can’t respect them and will discontinue watching shows on it. Maybe when their ratings for other shows drop they’ll take the fans of this show seriously. If they lost writers from the strike then I say pay them or find equally talented ones.

It would be a shame to cancel this show. With all the reality tv going on people need a break. I personally can not stand reality shows, so having something I LOVE to watch on is like a breath of fresh air. KEEP WMC ALIVE AND RUNNING

I work at a very large grocery store named Wegmans in Rochesster, NY and along with many other women there would be very upset to see The Womens’ Murder Club go off the air. We waited through the writer’s strike for this show to return and now that it’s finally returning we find out that the next three episodes will decide if it stays or not.
What are you thinking entertainment people? We don’t need another reality show. Just give the women who watch your station our Womens’ Murder Club with Angie Harmon and her girls and let us be happy one night with television for us.

I absolutely love Women’s Murder Club, it is by far THE best show out there as of right now. Please DO NOT cancel WMC. The cast is amazing and the show is actually interesting to watch. Every new episode makes my week and i cant wait till Tuesdays to see another one. WMC is inspiring to many women and it would be very disappointing if it is canceled. i watch the show with five of my other friends (3 girls, 2 guys) and none of us are older than 23 years young. This is the best show on TV. I don’t ever remember looking forward to watching a television show like I do Women’s Murder Club. The cast is great, the plot is great. People actually talk about this show. Why cancel?
