So, Adam Lambert was amazing. And I’m not even lyin’. I really could have done without the ridiculous number of strobes, which sent me into the ‘listening, but not watching’ mode halfway through his set and sent me out of the room before the encore.
Of course, if I hadn’t been sitting out in the foyer before the masses spilled through the doors, I wouldn’t have had some strange woman approach me and call me by the wrong name, and I, therefore, might never have learned that my doppelganger in Cleveland goes by the name of Grace. And, regardless of the fact that I said “no” as soon as she called me Grace, this woman just kept coming. She was way the fuck up in my grill before she finally allowed me to tell her I wasn’t Grace. And she still didn’t look like she believed me.
And, as if that wasn’t bizarre enough, the next day, as we were leaving Whole Foods, Shawna saw my doppelganger in the parking lot. Or else I have two in Cleveland. And apparently this girl really did look like me, except that she had bangs and was dressed like an accountant/insurance salesperson. To which I say “eek!” To both, I think. I haven’t had bangs since like the fifth grade, and it was probably a bad idea then.
As for Orianthi in person, we’ve decided that she out-Merediths Meredith Brooks on guitar. But she doesn’t have anywhere near Meredith’s writing chops. Since Meredith has gone all baby music on us though, it’s good to have a replacement who can wail on the guitar.
Then, on Saturday, we went to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, which was reasonably cool. Some interesting things to see. And we got our tickets in a package with our room, which was way better than paying for them. There were some gaping holes in their displays, but nobody cried.
Any time I have to go anywhere crowded where there is an escalator though, I feel like schools in this country need to teach a mandatory course on escalator protocol. Apparently, physics isn’t enough. I still don’t get why people don’t understand that, when moving objects are coming at you from behind, you cannot simply stop and stand in the only channel of escape.

So, what did you think of Rizzoli and Isles?
