When Baking Attempts Go Bad

December 31st, 2008 by Riley

I enjoy cooking and baking. I really do. And I’m really a very decent cook. Oftentimes, I forgo recipes to make my own concoctions, and they are usually successful in a tasty kind of way.

Usually.

I was craving peanut butter cookies the other day, and I thought I would adapt a recipe to make it slightly healthier by using what I had on hand. Holy grossness. This was, hands down, my nastiest attempt at baking ever. Not only did they taste all wrong, they didn’t even bake up like cookies. They baked up more like a cake or a muffin, and I’m really quite confounded as to how that was accomplished.

On a happier note, Shawna has been eating them for breakfast every morning this week. She says that they taste like little banana breads. At this point, I would like to revisit an important point in this tale.
