My Exchange with Google

December 4th, 2008 by Riley

So, Google has apparently noticed my recent rise in book sales with Amazon. Thanks for that by the way, peeps. Anyway, they noticed and  copyright infringed me as they have been doing to lots of people. So I kindly asked them to please stop.

This is the response I received from them -

“Hello Riley,

Thanks for your message. I understand that you would like us to take down
your title “Bleeding Through Kingdoms: Cinderella’s  Rebellion” from
Google Book Search. After reviewing our records, it appears that the title
in question has already been submitted by your publisher, Tattered Essence
Publishing. I recommend that you contact your publisher directly and
request them to remove the book from their account as, to our knowledge,
Tattered Essence Publishing is the copyright holder of this book.

Please feel free to contact me if you’d like any further assistance in
this matter.

Sincerely,

Eva
The Google Book Search Team”

… and my reply -

“Hello Eva -

I appreciate that you went to the trouble to research this, but I regret to inform you that your research must have gone awry. I am fairly certain that my publisher, Tattered Essence Publishing, did not submit this book for Google Book Search, and if by some off-chance that did take place, Tattered Essence would now like the book to be removed.

I can say this with some certainty, because Tattered Essence is my company. Since I know that you enjoy research, please feel free to check with the state of Tennessee. My name appears on the business’ records and everything. If I recall correctly, I gave myself a title like Captain Ninja or something instead of CEO, but you’ll get the idea.

The fact that I do own the company made it quite easy to contact my publisher, as you suggested, have an impromptu corporate meeting this morning in my pajamas, and, come to the consensus of one that Tattered Essence would, in fact, like Bleeding Through Kingdoms: Cinderella’s Rebellion removed from Google Book Search.

Sincerely,
Riley LaShea
Captain Ninja, Tattered Essence Publishing”

i was reading her email to you thinking, “wait, it’s that riley’s company?”

so when she “research” she meant an attempt at research.
