Kids Carry the Plague… or, One More Reason to Avoid Church

July 30th, 2008 by Riley

Ah, it seems a rather ominous beginning to this, my year of extremely hard effort at making something happen.

My youngest nephew got sick in the wee hours of Sunday morning and spent the rest of the day in bed, throwing up. They had Vacation Bible School the week before and apparently it was being spread around from little kiddie to little kiddie.

Monday night, as I was working diligently on the next part of Extreme Sensitivity , my brother-in-law decides it’s a good time for him to also catch the dread viral infection. Then, Shawna starts hurling too. So, not wanting them to have to war for the one bathroom in my childhood home, we come to a hotel. About an hour after we get here, I too get sick. My oldest nephew and my sister both wake up with it Monday night. So, Noah officially took out everyone in his household in one fell swoop. That’s pretty impressive for a kid who weighs like sixty pounds.

This was not a pleasant illness and I spent the entire day yesterday lying in bed, severely achy, at least when I wasn’t throwing up.

I know this is attractive to hear. Sorry. The point is, I was trying to update fan fic, and you are allowed to place all blame on Noah.

I don’t understand. He doesn’t look particularly evil.

Oh, kids totally carry the plague. That whole rat thing was a just a conspiracy, so the human race wouldn’t die out.

How about if I blame the kid who brought the nasty bug to Bible School? For the sake of this conversation, I’ll just call him Damien.

Hope you all feel better. And curses on you, Damien, for delaying our L/C fix!

Oh Pammykins… just be glad you weren’t around to experience it. Seriously. We are very weak and not quite up to eating normal people food, but we do feel better.

Heh. Grateful for your agreement that kids are the carriers of the plague, Starry. And we are so right about this!

Great thinking, Nikky. Let’s blame the other kid. I’d rather not blame the one that shares DNA with me. And Damien… definitely a fitting name. Cracked me up!

I hope you both are feeling a lot stronger soon, how awful. We had a similar thing going around in February, it was horrible. Damn Damien!

Vacation… Is it the time of ’sumer vacation’? Oh my, this is just too much. I am so cold! We had our coldest day in 100 years where i live(Melbourne) two days ago and i still can’t feel my toes!

It’s even contagious through the internet, granted in a warped and diluted form, but I’ve been sick all day.

    Hope you feel better.

OMG!!! What an absolutely adorable child….it definitely wasn’t this child’s fault the entire house became infected
with the plague. I too, blame Damien.
