Remember the song “Real World” by Matchbox 20? It was on when I got in the car this morning to come to work. Those beloved morning DJs… they really have a way of capturing the mood, don’t they?

Anyway, it was at the part that says “I wonder what it’s like to be a super hero, I wonder where I’d go if I could fly around downtown.” It had been a while since I’d heard that song, and feeling somewhat nostalgic, and also still half-asleep, I proclaimed “that would be cool,” which was then met with this -

“Why fly around downtown?”

Which spurred the following conversation that was so absurd, I feel compelled to share.

“What?”

“There have to be better places to fly.”

“Well, I guess maybe it’s the getting to dodge buildings and stuff that’s fun.”

“So, you would fly around downtown?”

“What?”

“That’s where you would fly?”

“I’d probably fly across the ocean to Europe and then fly around Paris.”

“I can see you holding on and spinning around the top of the Eiffel Tower.”

“That would be awesome!”

Oh, and I also saw a pirate. I’m thinking she was looking to commandeer the Santa Maria.
