Up-Dos for Every Woman

January 15th, 2008 by Riley

You know something on TV that I love?

No, it’s not reality programming. Nor the Oil of Olay commercials. Not anymore. Those just aren’t the same since Caitlin Keats isn’t being subjected to a polygraph or playing a friendly game of poker in which she smiles and you want to cry out to the men on screen with her, “Just give her your money or she’s going to charm you to death!”

No, it’s the hairstyles. Seriously. There is nothing that I love quite so much as seeing a woman manage a salon-only up-do for a date after spending the day in court or running around crime-fighting. It’s an impressive phenomenon. I can only hypothesize that it is one of their many skills, like memorizing case law or extracting information from an unwilling interviewee. During the day, bad ass detective. Come night time, master stylist with a flair for the dramatic.

It’s wonderfully ridiculous.
