From the Front Lines

November 22nd, 2007 by Riley

What do you do when you are one of the only people at the Thanksgiving feast to realize there is drama unfolding in your midst? What do you do when someone is dropping lie after lie, and you have it within your power to call them on it? You keep your mouth shut and play pool, that’s what you do. And then you grin and gleefully listen to someone else asking questions to make the liar in question super uncomfortable. The liar had gone on and on about his sick wife, who wasn’t really sick (but not because she just didn’t want to come as everyone accused after the liar left). The liar actually had done something or other to the pretend-sick wife the day before, and pretend-sick wife is now planning to divorce liar. Not terribly surprising that liar seems to have cheated. More shocking that it hadn’t happened sooner. So, Shawna says to liar several times. “Shouldn’t you be getting home to be with your sick wife?” Liar got edgy and defensive about it. It was a Thanksgiving miracle.
