35 pages into The Secret and already so much to make fun of. It will all come in good time. Worry not.
Clearly, this is a book (and film) intended to make people happy through the power of positive thinking. Fine. Anything that brings people happiness is all well and good. It’s all about the law of attraction, as absolute as gravity (and if you don’t believe that, the author will pound it into your head until you do). Basically, whatever you put out into the universe, you get back. If you harness the power of your thoughts and think only positive thoughts about what you desire, you will have all of it. Don’t ask questions! It’s just that simple.
Page 1 of the best-selling self-help grail starts the list of experts, the teachers of The Secret whom we will be reading quotes from. As might be expected, there’s your fair share of motivational speakers and philosophers, and then there’s your fair share of marketing specialists, entrepreneurs, and moneymaking experts. I’m not saying that it’s a bad idea to use these people as your Secret sages. I’m just saying if you are going to, you might not want to list their titles.
I don’t know what it is you are trying to put out into the universe, The Secret author Rhonda Byrne, but you are attracting skepticism.
